Cambodia Visa from Pakistan

There is no Cambodian embassy in Pakistan — the mission that covers you sits in Ankara. The e-Visa only works at five entry points out of the country's many. And every land border between Cambodia and Thailand is currently closed, which breaks the classic Bangkok-to-Siem Reap overland trip entirely.

Rules and fees checked 11 October 2026 against the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and General Department of Immigration

A Cambodian tourist visa, explained properly

Cambodia's visa is cheap and the paperwork is light. What makes this trip go wrong is almost never the application — it is geography and logistics: which entry point your visa actually works at, which border is open this month, and which embassy is even responsible for you.

This page leads with those, and it is also honest about one thing we could not establish.

Do you need a visa

Yes. Cambodia publishes a visa exemption list — around forty-odd entries, most of them ASEAN neighbours, and most of the non-ASEAN ones limited to diplomatic and official passports. Pakistan is not on it, in either version of the list the Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently publishes.

The three routes — and the mission nobody expects

Cambodia offers a tourist visa three ways: the e-Visa online, an application through a Cambodian diplomatic mission, and visa on arrival at entry points.

An important structural change underpins all three. Cambodian embassies no longer approve visas themselves. The Ministry states that even a visa applied for through a mission is "issued electronically… and approved by the e-Visa office in Phnom Penh (Embassies no longer approve visas directly)." Every route now runs through the same office.

The mission accredited to Pakistan is in Ankara

There is no Cambodian embassy or consulate in Pakistan. Cambodia's published list of embassies and their diplomatic jurisdictions, updated April 2026, assigns Pakistan to Ankara, Türkiye — alongside Azerbaijan, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan.

It is not New Delhi, which is the assumption almost everyone makes. New Delhi's jurisdiction is explicitly Bangladesh, India, Iran, Nepal and Sri Lanka — Pakistan is not in it. Sending documents to Delhi is a wasted courier.

We should also tell you the limit of what we could check: the Ankara mission has no working website, so we cannot confirm whether it accepts applications by post or courier, what it charges locally or how long it takes. Do not assume it works like the Berlin mission, which takes applications by email only and does not accept post or walk-ins at all.

One question we could not answer, and we are not going to pretend otherwise

You may have read that Cambodia's e-Visa excludes certain nationalities, and that Pakistan is among them. It is a claim that circulates widely on travel sites.

We could not verify it either way, and here is exactly why. No Cambodian government page we could reach publishes any nationality exclusion list — not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not its mission sites, not the immigration department. What the Ministry does say is that the e-Visa "allows travelers worldwide to apply for a Cambodia visa… from anywhere with internet access", presented as the first option with no nationality carve-out anywhere on the page. But the e-Visa portal itself sits behind a security system that refused every attempt to read it, so we could not test a Pakistani passport against the live form.

So we will not tell you Pakistan is excluded, and we will not tell you it is accepted. What we will tell you is the practical answer: the portal itself is the test, it takes two minutes to find out, and the mission route exists regardless. Send us your passport details and we will check it before you pay anything.

The only official domain is evisa.gov.kh, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs links to directly and describes as "exclusively operated by the E-Visa Office within the Ministry… and not handled by Cambodian embassies abroad." Cambodia has a long-standing problem with copycat sites, so that domain is worth checking character by character.

What it costs

VisaFeeNote
Tourist (T), through a missionUSD 30Single entry, 3 months validity, 30 days stay
e-VisaUSD 363 months validity
Tourist T1, multiple entry, 1 yearUSD 40—
Tourist T2, multiple entry, 2 yearsUSD 60—
Tourist T3, multiple entry, 3 yearsUSD 80—
Business (E)USD 35Needs an invitation letter; tourist visas do not

Two honest caveats on this table. Cambodia's own pages describe the tourist visa as single entry in one place while the Ministry's fee schedule sells multiple-entry tourist visas for one, two and three years — those two statements do not sit together comfortably, and we are showing you both rather than picking one. And individual missions add their own local surcharges: the Berlin embassy, for instance, charges a separate uploading fee. What the Ankara mission charges a Pakistani applicant is not published anywhere we could find.

On processing time the official sources also disagree: the Ministry's fee schedule says the e-Visa takes one day and a mission visa three days, while its visa types page says the tourist visa takes three working days. Plan on three. Cambodia adds, unusually bluntly, that "express or rush processing is strictly not available" — so nobody can sell you a faster Cambodian visa.

Source and date. Fees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation's published service fee schedule, read 11 October 2026. These are Cambodian government fees paid to the Cambodian authorities, not to Breeze, and Cambodia can change them without notice. Our own charge is quoted separately.

Where the e-Visa actually works

This is the detail that strands people, and Cambodia states it plainly: "not all entry points accept e-Visas."

The e-Visa is accepted at:

  • Phnom Penh International Airport
  • Siem Reap Angkor International Airport
  • Sihanoukville International Airport — but not for cruise ship arrivals
  • Bavet land crossing, Svay Rieng province — the Ho Chi Minh City route
  • Tropaeng Kreal Border Post, Stung Treng province — the Laos route

Other crossings that are open — Kaoam Samnor, Phnom Den, Trapaing Sre, Dong Kralo among them — are explicitly listed as open, but does not support e-Visa entry. Arriving at one of those with only an e-Visa is a problem you cannot solve at the counter.

If you are flying into Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, none of this touches you. If Cambodia is one leg of an overland Southeast Asia trip, it decides your whole routing.

The Thai land border is closed

Bangkok to Siem Reap overland is not currently possible

Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs states it directly: "All land border crossings between Cambodia and Thailand remain closed at the moment until further notice." That covers Poi Pet, Cham Yeam, Chorm, Daung, Prom and O Smach.

The classic budget route — Bangkok, bus to Aranyaprathet, walk across at Poi Pet, on to Siem Reap — does not work while that stands. If you are planning Thailand and Cambodia in one trip, you need to fly between them, and you need to build that into the budget from the start rather than discovering it at a border post.

Border policy changes. Check it again close to travel, and ask us before you book a Thailand-Cambodia itinerary.

Documents

The official supporting documents for a tourist visa are short: flight ticket and/or hotel booking. Applying through a mission by email adds a completed and signed application form, a clear scan of the passport biographical page with a legible machine-readable zone, a round-trip flight booking, proof of accommodation and proof of payment.

What Cambodia does not publish, and what we will therefore not invent:

  • No minimum funds or bank balance figure appears on any Cambodian government source.
  • No passport validity figure is published for a tourist visa. Six months is the sensible regional default and is what we would advise, but it is advice, not a Cambodian rule we can cite.
  • No photo specification is published outside the portal, which we could not read.
  • No separate document list for salaried, self-employed, retired or student applicants. One list covers everyone. The only employment-related note in Cambodia's material is that the business visa "is also suitable for retired foreigners who wish to stay in Cambodia for an extended period" — which is about long stays, not about a retiree's tourist file.
  • No travel insurance requirement is mentioned anywhere official.

Invitation letters are required only for NGO and business visas. A tourist does not need one.

The e-Arrival card

Cambodia has merged its immigration, health and customs arrival forms into one digital submission at arrival.gov.kh, linked from the immigration department's own site.

  • Free. The Ministry answers the question directly: "Is There a Fee for the Cambodia e-Arrival? No. The e-Arrival system is free via the official website or mobile application."
  • Submit within seven days before arrival, including the day of arrival. You receive a QR code, and it can be edited until it is scanned.
  • It is not a visa. Cambodia spells this out: you still need the e-Arrival even if you already hold a valid Cambodian visa.

Two honest notes. Cambodia's immigration department says "all travelers" while the Ministry's FAQ says that for now it applies only to foreign travellers arriving by air — two official sources, two different scopes. And although the paper form is described as "set to be discontinued soon", the official language around e-Arrival is still permissive ("can submit") rather than mandatory, so we are not going to call it compulsory when Cambodia has not. Fill it in regardless: it is free and it saves time at the counter.

Rules people miss

  • A tourist visa can be extended once. Only once. Cambodia's visa types page is explicit about the contrast: the tourist visa is "extendable (once)" while the business visa is "extendable (multiple options)". If you are planning more than a month or two in Cambodia, the tourist visa is the wrong instrument and it is worth knowing before you arrive. Extension fees are not published, so we will not quote one.
  • Visa stickers are gone. Cambodia states that "visa stickers will no longer be placed in passport books. This applies to all types of visas." Your visa is digital — print it and carry the print. The exception is visa on arrival, where travellers still go to the counter, obtain a sticker and pay there, in US dollars cash.
  • Validity and stay are different things, as everywhere: "All our visa types are valid for three months, meaning you can enter Cambodia on any day within that three-month period starting from the issue date." Your 30 days of stay begin when you enter.
  • Overstay fines: Cambodia charges a published daily fine, but we could not source the current figure from any Cambodian government page, so we are not printing a number. Treat overstaying as expensive and avoid it.

How we prepare your file

Cambodia is a cheap visa attached to an itinerary that can go badly wrong, so that is where our work sits.

First, we test the e-Visa route against your passport before anything is paid, so you get a real answer rather than the rumour that circulates about excluded nationalities. If it does not work, the mission route through Ankara is the fallback and we will tell you what that realistically involves rather than pretending it is quick.

Second, the routing: making sure your arrival point is one of the five that accept an e-Visa, and keeping you off a Thailand-Cambodia land crossing while those borders are shut. That single check is worth more than the visa fee.

Third, the trip itself — flights, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh arrangements, and the e-Arrival filed free three days out. Breeze Travels & Tours has worked on visa files from Davis Road, Garhi Shahu, since 2003, and flights are issued by the same desk on our own IATA accreditation — see air ticketing.

Cambodia visa questions

The questions people actually ask at the office. If yours is not here, send it on WhatsApp.

Can Pakistanis use the Cambodian e-Visa?
We will not claim either way, because no Cambodian government page we could reach publishes a nationality exclusion list, and the e-Visa portal itself is behind a security system we could not get through to test it. The Ministry describes the e-Visa as open to travellers worldwide with no carve-out. The honest answer is that the portal is the test, it takes two minutes, and the mission route exists regardless. Send us your details and we will check it before you pay.
Where is the Cambodian embassy for Pakistan?
Ankara, Türkiye. Cambodia's published list of embassies and their jurisdictions, updated April 2026, assigns Pakistan to Ankara along with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and others. It is not New Delhi, whose jurisdiction explicitly covers Bangladesh, India, Iran, Nepal and Sri Lanka. There is no Cambodian mission in Pakistan.
How much is a Cambodia tourist visa?
USD 30 for the tourist visa through a mission and USD 36 for the e-Visa, both valid three months from issue with a 30-day stay. Multiple-entry tourist visas run USD 40 for one year, 60 for two and 80 for three. Individual missions add local surcharges, and what Ankara charges a Pakistani applicant is not published anywhere we could find.
Does the e-Visa work at every border?
No, and Cambodia says so. It works at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap Angkor and Sihanoukville airports, and at only two land crossings — Bavet in Svay Rieng and Tropaeng Kreal in Stung Treng. Several other open crossings are expressly listed as not supporting e-Visa entry. If you are flying into Phnom Penh or Siem Reap it is a non-issue.
Can I travel overland from Thailand to Siem Reap?
Not at the moment. Cambodia's foreign ministry states that all land border crossings between Cambodia and Thailand remain closed until further notice, which covers Poi Pet and the rest. The Bangkok to Siem Reap overland route does not work while that stands — you would need to fly. Check again close to travel, and talk to us before booking a combined Thailand and Cambodia trip.
What documents do I need?
For a tourist visa, the official supporting documents are a flight ticket and/or hotel booking. Applying through a mission adds a signed application form, a clear scan of your passport page with a readable machine-readable zone, and proof of payment. No invitation letter is needed for tourism — that applies to business and NGO visas.
How much bank balance do I need?
Cambodia publishes no minimum funds figure anywhere we could find, so we are not going to print one. Nor does it publish a passport validity rule for the tourist visa; six months is sensible regional practice and that is our advice, not a Cambodian requirement we can cite.
Can I extend a Cambodian tourist visa?
Once, and once only. Cambodia contrasts this directly with the business visa, which has multiple extension options. If you are planning a long stay, the tourist visa is the wrong instrument. Extension fees are not published officially, so we will not quote one.
What is the e-Arrival card and does it cost anything?
A single digital form covering immigration, health and customs, at arrival.gov.kh. It is free — Cambodia states that plainly — and it is submitted within seven days before arrival. It is not a visa: you need it even if you already hold one. Note that the immigration department says it applies to all travellers while the foreign ministry says for now it applies to arrivals by air; fill it in either way.
Can you guarantee my Cambodia visa?
No. What we can do is the two things that actually decide whether this trip works: test your eligibility on the official portal before you spend anything, and make sure your arrival point and your Thailand connection are not going to leave you standing at a closed or non-accepting border.

Other visas we prepare

Travellers planning Cambodia often ask about these next.

About this page. Breeze Travels & Tours Pvt Ltd is a private travel agency. We are not the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the General Department of Immigration or the e-Visa Office, and we do not issue visas. Nothing here is legal advice. We make no claim about approval rates and we do not guarantee outcomes.

Rules and fees last checked: 11 October 2026. Cambodia's e-Visa portal could not be read when we checked, so nothing that appears only on that portal is stated here — including whether any nationality is excluded, and the photo specification. Where official Cambodian sources disagree — on processing time, on single versus multiple entry for tourist visas, and on the scope of the e-Arrival card — both positions are shown above. Border status in particular changes; confirm before booking.

Send us the route before you book anything

For Cambodia the itinerary is the risk, not the paperwork. Tell us where you are flying in from, whether Thailand is part of the trip, and your dates — we will check your eligibility on the official portal and make sure your arrival point actually accepts the visa you are buying.
