Choosing an Umrah package, without guessing
Four things decide what an Umrah package costs and what it feels like when you get there: whether the air ticket is in it, how far your hotel is from the Haram, how many people share your room, and when you travel. Everything else is detail.
What is included
Inclusions change by package, and the card for each one lists its own. Across the range:
- Umrah visa — in every package, because the visa is issued against the booking
- Hotel accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, named before you pay, or similar if the named property is unavailable
- Transport — shared bus on the Economy route, one-way private transfers on most Executive options
- Return air ticket — in the Economy and 15 Days packages; not in the Executive packages
- Medical insurance — on the Economy packages
- Breakfast — on most Executive hotels; room-only on some, which we state against each one
- Ziyarat — optional on all packages, arranged on request
Food other than breakfast is not included on any package unless we confirm it in writing for you.
With or without air tickets — the decision that matters most
This is the single thing that makes two Umrah quotes impossible to compare, and it is where most people get caught.
PKR 165,000 is not cheaper than PKR 275,000
Our Executive packages start at PKR 165,000 — hotels, visa and private transfer, no air ticket. Our Economy packages start at PKR 275,000 — the same essentials plus the return flight.
Add a ticket to the first and the gap closes or reverses, depending on the season you fly. So when you compare us with anyone else, the first question is not the price. It is: is the flight in it?
Packages with air tickets suit most pilgrims travelling from Pakistan: one price, one booking, and the flight dates match the hotel nights automatically.
Packages without air tickets are worth it in three cases — you already hold a ticket, you are travelling on miles or a staff fare, or you are starting from outside Pakistan. They also let you reach a better hotel for the same total spend, because you control the airfare separately.
Hotels and distance from the Haram
Distance is the real currency in Makkah. It decides how many times a day you make the walk, whether you queue at an assembly point, and how much of your trip is spent travelling rather than praying.
Saudi Arabia runs assembly points at the entrances to the Haram courtyards, where your Umrah permit is checked and you are bussed to the nearest drop-off. If you hold a confirmed booking at one of the central hotels near the Haram you may go directly to the Haram without passing through the assembly point. That is what you are buying when you pay for a closer hotel.
Hotels in Makkah
- Makkah Towers — 0 m, at the Haram
- Almassa Grand Hotel or similar — about 500 m
- Emaar Al Manaar or similar — about 650 m
- Kiswa Towers or similar — about 1500 m, shuttle service
- VOCO Makkah, five-star — about 1500 m, shuttle service
- Movenpick Hajar Tower, InterContinental Dar al Tawhid, Marriott Jabal Omar, DoubleTree by Hilton, Makarem Ajyad or similar on the Executive packages
Hotels in Madinah
- ODST Al Madinah or similar — about 250 m
- Waqf Outhman Bin Affan or similar — about 250 m
- Dar Al Naeem or similar — about 300 m
- Rawda Al Aqeeq or similar — about 300 m
- Emaar Al Khair or similar — under 1 km
- Anwar Al Madinah Movenpick, Saja Al Madinah, Al Saha or similar on the Executive packages
Hotels are quoted as named property or similar, because availability moves. If the named hotel cannot be held for your dates we tell you what replaces it and what its distance is, in writing, before you pay — not after you land.
Room sharing, and what it actually costs you
After the air ticket, occupancy is the biggest lever on price, and it is the one most people decide too quickly. On our 15-day Economy package the same trip, same hotels, same dates:
| Room sharing | People per room | Price per person | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quint | 5 | PKR 275,000 | — |
| Quad | 4 | PKR 285,000 | +10,000 |
| Triple | 3 | PKR 298,000 | +23,000 |
| Double | 2 | PKR 332,000 | +57,000 |
Quint to quad costs PKR 10,000 and buys a noticeably easier two weeks. Quad to double costs PKR 47,000 more again, and for an older traveller or a couple it is usually the right spend. Families often mix — parents in a double, children in a quad — and we price that as one booking.
What decides the price
No honest Umrah page can print a fixed price, and the ones that do are quoting a season that has passed. What moves it:
- Airfare — the largest single variable, and the one that swings most between seasons
- When you travel — Ramadan, school holidays and the weeks after Hajj are the peaks
- Hotel distance from the Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi
- Room occupancy — see the table above
- Length of stay and how the nights split between Makkah and Madinah
- Private or shared transport
- Exchange rate, since hotels and transport are bought in riyals
Any additional taxes imposed by the Pakistani or Saudi government may apply on top. We itemise everything on the quote, with the Saudi government charges shown separately from ours, so you can see what you are paying us for.
Umrah transport
Transport arrangements depend on the package. On the Economy route it is a shared bus covering Jeddah Airport to Makkah, Makkah to Madinah, Madinah back to Makkah and Makkah to Jeddah Airport. On most Executive options it is one-way private transport from the airport to the hotel, with the intercity leg arranged separately.
Private vehicles can be arranged on any package at additional cost — cars, Hiace vans, Land Cruisers and GMC vehicles, depending on group size and availability. For families travelling with elderly parents or anyone with mobility needs, raise it when you enquire: it changes which vehicle and which hotel entrance makes sense, and it is far easier to plan in advance than to fix in Makkah.
Always confirm the pickup point, the number of transfers, the vehicle type, and whether each leg is private or shared before you pay. We put all four on the quote.
Umrah Ziyarat
Ziyarat is optional on every package and arranged on request. Access to individual sites depends on local regulations and the confirmed itinerary.
In Makkah: Masjid Al-Haram, Masjid Aisha (Masjid at Taneem), Mount Arafat (Jabal al-Rahmah), Jannat al-Mu'alla, Jabal an-Nour, Jabal Thawr, Ghar-e-Hira, Masjid Nimrah, Makkah Library, Masjid al-Jinn, Mount Abu Qubays and Al-Khaif Mosque.
In Madinah: Masjid Quba, Masjid an-Nabawi, Riyad ul Jannah subject to entry arrangements, Masjid Abu Bakr, Masjid al-Jummah, Masjid Bilal, the Seven Mosques area at Khandaq, Masjid Miqat Bir Ali, Jannat al-Baqi subject to access regulations, Masjid al-Qiblatayn and Wadi al-Baida.
One practical note for Madinah: praying in the Rawdah Sharifah needs its own permit in the Nusuk app, and there is a 30-day interval between Rawdah visits — so one visit per trip for almost everyone. Plan it early in your Madinah nights rather than late.
The Umrah visa
The visa is included in every package and we file it for you. The rules behind it — the SAR 300 Saudi fee, the two mandatory vaccinations, the Nusuk permit, the 90-day stay and the three-month entry window — are set out in full, with sources, on our Umrah visa from Pakistan page.
Two things from it worth knowing before you choose a package. Meningitis ACWY vaccination is mandatory for every pilgrim and must be given at least 10 days before arrival, and polio vaccination is mandatory for everyone travelling from Pakistan regardless of age or previous vaccination, at least four weeks before arrival. Those windows decide how early you can realistically fly, so tell us your dates before you book anything.
How to book
-
Send us your dates and group
Travel month, how many people, ages of any children, and whether you want the air ticket in the price. On WhatsApp or at the office — either is fine.
-
We come back with real options
Named hotels with their distances, the nights in each city, your room occupancy and the current price for your dates, itemised. If your dates do not work — too close to Hajj, vaccination window too tight — you hear it here, not later.
-
Confirm, and we file the visa
You approve the hotels and dates in writing, and we book the accommodation and transport and submit the visa against them. Visa processing begins once payment is complete.
-
Collect your documents and your briefing
Visa, tickets where included, hotel vouchers and transport details — plus how to register on Nusuk from Pakistan and book your Umrah and Rawdah permits.
Before you pay anyone for Umrah — us or anybody else — get the hotel names, their distances, the room occupancy, who moves you between the cities and what is excluded, all in writing. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's own guidance to pilgrims is that you should not be asked for "any additional amounts outside the contract". The contract is what protects you, so make sure it says everything.
