Ramzan Umrah packages, planned properly
Umrah in Ramadan carries the greatest reward of the year — the Prophet, peace be upon him, said that Umrah performed in Ramadan is equal to Hajj, narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari. It is also the hardest trip of the year to plan, the most expensive, and the one where a badly chosen hotel costs you the thing you came for.
This page is the planning, not the sales pitch. The real dates, what each Ashra is actually like, what the permits require, and where the money goes.
Ramadan 1448 dates — and a warning about other pages
Before anything else, get the dates right. We checked several Pakistani Umrah pages while preparing this one and found Ramadan 2027 published as starting anywhere between 8 February and 28 February — a three-week spread. Book leave from the wrong page and you miss the Ashra you paid for.
| Period | Hijri | Expected Gregorian |
|---|---|---|
| First Ashra Mercy — Rahmah | 1–10 Ramadan 1448 | 8 – 17 February 2027 |
| Second Ashra Forgiveness — Maghfirah | 11–20 Ramadan | 18 – 27 February 2027 |
| Last Ashra Najat — includes Laylatul Qadr | 21–29 Ramadan | 28 February – 8 March 2027 |
| 27th night | 27 Ramadan | Night of 5–6 March 2027 |
| Eid al-Fitr | 1 Shawwal 1448 | 9 March 2027 |
These follow the Umm al-Qura calendar, which gives Ramadan 1448 as 29 days, and they match the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's own published 1448 season calendar. All of it is subject to moon sighting — Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court announces the actual start, and a one-day shift is normal. Pakistan's Ruet-e-Hilal Committee may announce a different day again.
What the moon means for a Last Ashra booking
If Ramadan begins a day later in Saudi Arabia than expected, every night shifts with it — including the 27th. A tightly cut last-ten-nights trip can end up with the pilgrim flying home on the night they travelled for.
We build Last Ashra packages with a night of margin at each end for exactly this reason, and we tell you what changing the return date would cost before you book rather than after. No other page in this market mentions the problem at all.
One more date, and it is an official one almost nobody publishes. The Ministry's 1448 Umrah season calendar sets the last date for Umrah pilgrims to depart the Kingdom as 30 Shawwal 1448, which is 7 April 2027; the last date to be issued an Umrah visa is 9 March 2027 and the last date to enter is 23 March 2027. If you are thinking of staying on after Eid, those are the real limits, and an Umrah visa cannot be extended into the Hajj season under any circumstances.
The six Ramadan packages
Four by length, two by Ashra. Every one includes the Umrah visa, hotels in Makkah and Madinah and transport; air tickets can be in the package or arranged by you.
| Package | Best for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 7 Days 6 nights | A short Ramadan visit, usually Makkah only | Ask price |
| 10 Days 9 nights | Both cities at a sensible pace | Ask price |
| 15 Days 14 nights | The most common family choice | Ask price |
| 21 Days 20 nights | Covers two Ashras, including the last | Ask price |
| First Ashra 8–17 Feb 2027 | Quietest and cheapest ten nights of Ramadan | Ask price |
| Last Ashra 28 Feb–8 Mar 2027 | Laylatul Qadr, I'tikaf, the peak of the year | Ask price |
Why there is no price printed here. Ramadan hotel rates near the Haram move week by week and can be several times their off-season level, and airfare to Jeddah in February 2027 is not settled yet. Any Ramadan price published in advance is either stale or hedged so heavily it tells you nothing. We quote the day you ask, for your exact dates, itemised — and we will tell you honestly which week of Ramadan gives you the most for your money.
Our standard Umrah packages also run during Ramadan with the hotels and flights changed to Ramadan availability. If you have already seen one you like on the Economy, Executive or 15 Days pages, tell us and we will reprice that exact package for Ramadan dates. Hotel and flight can both be changed on request.
Choose your Ashra before you choose your hotel
This is the decision almost every Pakistani agency skips, and it matters more than the hotel. Ramadan is three ten-day periods and they are three different trips.
| Ashra | Crowds | Cost | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Rahmah | Lightest of the month | Lowest | Elderly pilgrims, families with young children, first-timers, anyone on a budget |
| Second Maghfirah | Building | Middle | A balance of atmosphere and space |
| Last Najat | Heaviest of the year | Highest by a distance | Laylatul Qadr, I'tikaf, pilgrims who can manage the crowds |
The First Ashra is the most underrated trip in Umrah. It carries the full reward of Ramadan Umrah, the Haram is at its most manageable, hotels near the Haram are reachable on a normal budget, and you can actually complete Tawaf and Sa'i without being carried by the crowd. For an elderly parent, it is not merely cheaper — it is the difference between performing Umrah comfortably and not completing it at all. We are one of very few agencies in Pakistan who will sell you a First Ashra package rather than pushing you to the last ten nights.
The Last Ashra is the peak of the Islamic year, and we will not pretend otherwise. But go into it knowing what it is: the Grand Mosque and every approach to it full for hours before Isha on the odd nights, gates closing when capacity is reached, and hotel rates to match. If you are going, go close and go early.

A day in Ramadan in Makkah
Ramadan Umrah does not run on a tourist itinerary. It runs on the fast, and knowing the rhythm before you go is the difference between an exhausting trip and a transforming one.
- Before Fajr — wake for Suhoor at the hotel, then Fajr in the Haram.
- Morning — rest. Sleeping through part of the morning is not laziness in Ramadan, it is how you reach Taraweeh with anything left.
- After Dhuhr or Asr — Nawafil Tawaf. The Mataf is far more manageable now than in the evening.
- Iftar — in the Haram plaza if you can. Volunteers lay out dates, water and simple meals across the courtyards, and it is the single most memorable hour of the trip for most pilgrims.
- Isha and Taraweeh — twenty rak'ah in the Haram, which runs well past 11pm.
- Between 1am and Fajr — Qiyam al-Layl, and the quietest window of the whole day for Tawaf.
Two pieces of timing worth more than any brochure: Tawaf is most manageable between Fajr and sunrise, and between roughly 1am and 4am. And if your hotel runs a shuttle rather than being within walking distance, check the last return time — many economy shuttles stop before Taraweeh finishes, which means a taxi at surge prices or a long walk, every single night.
The last ten nights, Taraweeh and Laylatul Qadr
In Ramadan 1447 the Grand Mosque recorded more than 23.8 million worshippers at the five daily prayers and Taraweeh in the first ten days alone. The last ten are heavier again. Here is what that means in practice.
- Gates close when full. Saudi Arabia now manages Haram crowds with smart panels at the gates — green when entry is available, red when capacity is reached — steering worshippers to less crowded entrances. There are around 257 gates. On the odd nights of the last Ashra, expect red gates and plan to arrive long before Isha.
- You do not have to pray in the Grand Mosque to be inside the Haram boundary. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs prepared over 1,650 mosques in Makkah and the central area for Taraweeh and Qiyam, and stated plainly that the multiplied reward within the Haram boundary is not confined to the Grand Mosque itself. If you are 1500 m out with an elderly parent on the 27th night, this is the most useful sentence on this page.
- No permit is needed to pray. See the permits section below — this is widely misunderstood.
- Laylatul Qadr is sought across the odd nights of the last ten, with the 27th the most sought. Trips cut to a single night are a gamble; the full Ashra is not.
I'tikaf in the last ten nights
Very few Pakistani agencies will talk to you properly about I'tikaf, so here is what we actually know, and what we do not.
Masjid an-Nabawi, Madinah. In Ramadan 1447 the General Authority for the Two Holy Mosques opened electronic registration for men and women on 3 Ramadan, for I'tikaf running from 20 Ramadan to the end of 30 Ramadan, through the Authority's own portal at eservices.alharamain.gov.sa — not through Nusuk. Places are capacity-limited and applications are reviewed, with acceptance notified by SMS. The Authority later reported 3,200 places — 2,400 men on the eastern roof and 800 women in the eastern expansion — filled by pilgrims of multiple nationalities, which is the only official confirmation we can find that non-residents are admitted.
Masjid al-Haram, Makkah. I'tikaf takes place and the Authority allocates numbered spaces for it, but we could find no official announcement of a registration process for Ramadan 1447. In earlier years registration required accepting the Grand Mosque's conditions, entry at a specified time on 20 Ramadan, and a minimum age of 18. We cannot confirm those conditions still apply.
What this means for your booking
No agency in Pakistan can guarantee you a place in I'tikaf, and you should not believe one that says it can. Registration is run by the Saudi authority, opens only days into Ramadan, is capacity-limited and is decided by them.
What we can do is build the trip so that I'tikaf is possible: hotel dates that cover 20 Ramadan to Eid with a margin for the moon, a room you can leave and return to at 3am, a property close enough that a failed registration still leaves you in reach of the Haram, and a return flight that does not clip the 29th or 30th. Tick I'tikaf on the form above and we will plan around it and tell you when registration opened last year.
Permits in Ramadan — what is and is not required
This is where most pages in this market are simply wrong.
- To perform Umrah: a Nusuk permit is required. It is free, booked in the Nusuk or Tawakkalna app, and for an overseas pilgrim it requires an active visa at the time of booking. Only one permit can be active at a time, so each Umrah waits for the previous one to expire or be cancelled.
- To pray in the Grand Mosque, including Taraweeh: no permit at all. The Ministry's own answers are unambiguous — "there is no prayer permit" and "prayers can be performed at any time without a permit." Tawaf outside an Umrah is also allowed without a permit on the first floor. The Ramadan entry permits some people remember were COVID-era capacity controls and are not in the current rules.
- Rawdah Sharifah in Madinah: its own permit, and two official sources disagree on the interval. The General Authority states a permit "valid once every 365 days"; the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's FAQ says the interval is 30 days. We are showing you both rather than picking one. Check your own eligibility in the Nusuk app, which shows it for your account, and book it early in your Madinah nights.
- One Umrah per person during Ramadan? This was officially announced for Ramadan 1444, in 2023. We can find no official restatement for later years, and the current FAQ states there is no limit on how many times Umrah may be performed. We cannot tell you it has been withdrawn and we will not tell you it applies. Treat one Umrah as what you are certain of, and anything more as a possibility.
The full permit and visa rules, with sources, are on our Umrah visa from Pakistan page.
Hotels: why distance matters far more in Ramadan
Outside Ramadan, a ten-minute walk to the Haram is a minor inconvenience. In Ramadan you will make that walk for Fajr, for Iftar, for Taraweeh and again for Qiyam — four or five times in a day, while fasting. Ten minutes becomes an hour of walking, and for an older pilgrim it becomes the reason they stop going.
So in Ramadan, and only in Ramadan, our advice flips: pay for distance before you pay for stars. A four-star hotel three hundred metres out will serve you better across the month than a five-star at fifteen hundred with a shuttle that stops before Taraweeh ends.
We work with properties from the Haram boundary itself out to the shuttle belt — the full list, with distances, is on our Customized Umrah Package page, and we will tell you honestly which ones are worth the Ramadan premium and which are not. Hotels are always quoted as the named property or similar, with any substitute and its distance confirmed in writing before you pay.
When to book, and what moves the price
Ramadan is the one month where booking late is genuinely expensive rather than merely inconvenient. Hotel allocations near the Haram are taken months ahead and airfare to Jeddah climbs steadily from the turn of the year.
What moves a Ramadan quote, in order:
- Which Ashra — the single biggest factor, ahead of the hotel. Last Ashra is in a different price bracket from the first.
- Distance from the Haram — the Ramadan premium on a close hotel is steep and it is the thing most worth paying for.
- Airfare, and whether it is in the package.
- Room occupancy — quad and quint bring the per-person figure down sharply.
- Total nights, and how they split between Makkah and Madinah.
- Private or shared transport, which matters more in Ramadan because of the hours you travel.
One genuine piece of good news for 2027: Ramadan 1448 falls in February, which means short fasting days of around twelve hours and cool weather in both cities. For elderly pilgrims and for anyone who has put off a Ramadan Umrah because of the heat, this is as comfortable as it gets for several years.
Before you commit to anything, check your vaccination timing. Meningococcal ACWY is mandatory for every pilgrim, at least 10 days before arrival, and polio is mandatory for everyone travelling from Pakistan, regardless of age or previous vaccination, at least four weeks before arrival. For a 8 February departure that means starting in early January.
Ramadan Umrah packages from your city
Tell us where you are flying from and we price Ramadan from there, subject to flight availability.
- Ramadan Umrah packages from Lahore — our office is on Davis Road, so Lahore departures are the ones you can walk in and plan face to face.
- Ramadan Umrah packages from Islamabad — handled end to end on WhatsApp.
- Ramadan Umrah packages from Karachi — priced on request for your dates.
- From Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Peshawar and Quetta — subject to availability. In Ramadan, connections through Lahore, Islamabad or Karachi often price far better than a direct departure, and we will tell you when that is the case.
