Morocco Visa from Pakistan

Morocco has an e-visa, and you will find plenty of pages telling Pakistanis to apply for it. Most of them are wrong. Pakistan is not on the e-visa nationality list — a Pakistani qualifies only if they already hold a particular kind of visa or residence elsewhere, and an electronic one does not count.

Rules and fees checked 11 October 2026 against the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

A Moroccan visa, explained properly

Morocco is the destination on this site where the gap between what is published online and what applies to a Pakistani passport is widest. The country runs a slick e-visa portal, and the existence of that portal has produced a great deal of confident advice that does not apply here.

We would rather disappoint you on this page than at the airport, so here is the position plainly.

Do you need a visa

Yes. Morocco publishes a list of around ninety nationalities exempt from the entry visa — it includes the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey and most of Europe. Pakistan is not on it.

Pakistan does appear on Morocco's bilateral waiver list, but only for diplomatic, service and special passports. Ordinary passports are expressly not covered.

Can you use the e-visa? Usually not

Morocco's e-visa terms define exactly three eligible categories. Reading them in order is the fastest way to understand your own position.

Category A is the nationality list — citizens of named countries who can apply on their passport alone. The list is Azerbaijan, Benin, Brunei, Cambodia, Guatemala, India, Jordan, Laos, Israel, Thailand and Vietnam. Pakistan is not among them. India is, which is why so much of the advice circulating in South Asia does not transfer.

That leaves two conditional routes:

  • Category B — residence abroad. You hold an ordinary passport valid at least 90 days and a residence card or permit valid for at least 180 days in one of a list of countries: the EU states, the USA, Australia, Canada, the UK, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, the UAE and Switzerland. Residence in Pakistan does not qualify.
  • Category C — a visa from elsewhere. You hold one of Morocco's listed third-country visas: Schengen, USA, Australia, UK, Ireland, Japan, Canada, Norway or New Zealand. And it must meet three conditions at once.

The three conditions on Category C, and the one everybody misses

Morocco's own words: the qualifying visa "must be multiple-entries and valid for at least 90 days starting from the date of the electronic visa application." And crucially, the terms specify "non-electronic" visas — in the French original, "visas non électroniques".

So all three must be true:

1. Multiple entry. A single-entry Schengen will not do.
2. Valid at least 90 days from the date you apply for the Moroccan e-visa — measured from the application date, not your travel date.
3. Not an electronic visa. An electronic authorisation from one of those countries does not count. This is the condition that catches people, and it is the one most likely to produce a refusal after you have paid.

You must also carry the original qualifying document with you — Morocco requires the visa or residence card that made you eligible to be presented at the border.

The practical summary for most people reading this: if you live in Pakistan and hold no other country's multiple-entry sticker visa, the e-visa is not available to you. Morocco's own eligibility checker returns the consular route for exactly that profile. The route is the embassy.

The embassy route

Morocco's instruction for applicants who do not qualify for the e-visa is to "apply for their visas at the Embassy or Consulate General of Morocco near their place of residence."

For Pakistan that is one place: the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Islamabad, Plot 52, Street 7, G-5/4, Diplomatic Enclave, open Monday to Friday 9:00 to 16:00. There is no Moroccan consulate in Karachi, Lahore or anywhere else in Pakistan — the official consulate finder returns Islamabad alone, which also covers Afghanistan.

No Moroccan source names any outsourced visa centre for Pakistan, so do not let anyone tell you the application goes through a commercial centre. The only channels Morocco names are the Embassy itself and the official portal.

We also have to be straight about a gap: the consular visa fee for Pakistani nationals is not published. Morocco's chancery fee page was inaccessible on every attempt, and no other official source carries it. Nor does Morocco publish a processing time for consular visas. Anyone quoting you a precise figure for either is not reading it off a Moroccan government page. We confirm both with the Embassy for your case rather than guessing.

Documents

Morocco's published tourism list for a consular visa comes in two stages, which is unusual and worth planning around.

At the time of lodging:

  • The Morocco entry visa application form
  • Two colour photographs on a white background, 4 by 3 cm, recent, clearly showing the facial features
  • Identity card or residence card
  • A valid passport — validity must exceed the length of the stay — plus a photocopy of the identity and validity pages
  • A bank statement; or a duly legalised sponsorship undertaking for a family visit covering medical costs and possible repatriation; or a request from an approved travel agency, or a recommendation from the Ministry of Tourism or an ONMT delegation

At the time the visa is issued:

  • Travel insurance
  • A hotel reservation or voucher
  • A return transport ticket with firm reservation
  • Chancery fees

That third option in the first stage matters to you: a request from an approved travel agency is an accepted alternative to the bank statement. It is one of the few places on this site where going through an agency is itself part of the published route rather than a convenience.

Morocco publishes its requirements by purpose of travel — tourism, work, business, investor, conferences, student, family reunification, journalist, medical and so on — and not by employment status. There is no employed, self-employed or retired variant of the tourism list. A retired applicant uses the tourism list unchanged. Any Morocco checklist broken down by occupation is an agency's invention.

Note the photo sizes differ between routes: two photos at 4 by 3 cm for the consular application, but one photo at 35 by 45 mm to ICAO standard, taken within the last six months, for the e-visa.

The EUR 70 a day rule

Across this site we keep telling you that countries rarely publish minimum funds. Morocco does, and it is worth knowing before you book.

Morocco's e-visa terms list, among the documents to present on arrival: "Proof of livelihoods: international bank card or the equivalent of more than 70 euros, in cash per person and per day during the stay in Morocco." The portal states the same as a declaration the applicant must accept: sufficient financial means, 70 EUR per day minimum.

For a ten-day trip that is EUR 700 per person, demonstrable at the border. It is the published Moroccan benchmark and almost no page quotes it correctly.

For the consular route, no minimum is published — the list asks for a bank statement with no stated amount. But the 70 a day figure is the standard Morocco has put in writing, and it is the sensible one to prepare against either way.

Source and date. e-Visa conditions, fees and the funds requirement from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official portal and its published terms of use; consular documents and visa types from consulat.ma. Read 11 October 2026. Fees are Moroccan government charges paid to Morocco, not to Breeze, and can change without notice. Our own charge is quoted separately.

Stay, validity and extensions

For the e-visa, if you qualify: "The maximum period of the electronic visa validity is 180 days, starting from the date of issue, for a single entry and a period of stay not exceeding 30 days."

  • Validity runs from issue, not from arrival.
  • Single entry, 30 days maximum stay.
  • Standard issuance is quoted at 72 hours and express at 24 hours, Moroccan working days — though Morocco notes that deadline does not apply to incomplete applications or those containing false information.
  • Nothing is refundable. Once validated and paid, an application "may not, under any circumstances, be subject to cancellation or refund request", and a refused application is not refunded either.

For the consular short-validity visa, each stay runs between one and ninety days, with one, two or multiple entries depending on the case.

Extensions and changes of status: effectively no. Morocco states that the type of visa already obtained cannot be changed once the holder has entered Moroccan territory, and that a new visa must be applied for from the country of residence. E-visa holders may not apply for residency under any circumstances.

One thing Morocco does not have, despite what you will read: there is no 90-days-in-180 rule published anywhere in Moroccan material. What exists instead is an anti-stacking rule — a holder of several e-visas may not add the stays together and must leave at the end of the first before benefiting from a new one.

Rules people miss

  • Single entry breaks the Spain day-trip. The e-visa is single entry. A hop across to Ceuta, Melilla or a ferry to Spain exits Morocco, and the e-visa will not bring you back. Plan the itinerary around it.
  • Ordinary passports only for the e-visa — diplomatic, service, special and refugee travel documents are refused, and for Pakistan the portal does not recognise service or special passports at all.
  • Minors under 18 holding an e-visa may enter only when accompanied by a parent or legal representative.
  • A visa is not a right of entry. Morocco states that holding an electronic visa "does not confer an irrevocable right of entry" and that border control may refuse anyone who does not meet the conditions.
  • Families should apply together — Morocco asks for group and family applications in a single dossier for grouped processing.
  • Overstay penalties are not published on any Moroccan site we could reach, so we are not going to print figures. The governing law is cited but its penalty text is not online.

On websites: Morocco publishes no warning about copycat e-visa sites, so we will not attribute one to it. What it does state repeatedly is the channel — applications are to be made via www.acces-maroc.ma. Note the www; the bare domain does not resolve.

How we prepare your file

On Morocco our first job is to save you a wasted application. Before anything is paid we establish which of the three categories you actually fall into — and for most Pakistani residents the answer is none of them, which means the Embassy in Islamabad rather than the portal. If you do hold a multiple-entry Schengen, UK, US, Canadian, Australian, Irish, Japanese, Norwegian or New Zealand sticker visa, we check it against all three conditions, including the one about it not being electronic, before you spend MAD 770.

For the consular route, we use the published alternative that exists precisely for agencies: a request from an approved travel agency in place of the bank statement, with the hotel, insurance and ticketing assembled for the second stage. We confirm the current chancery fee with the Embassy rather than quoting you a figure Morocco does not publish, and we plan around the single trip to Islamabad.

Breeze Travels & Tours has worked on visa files from Davis Road, Garhi Shahu, since 2003. Flights are issued by the same desk on our own IATA accreditation once the visa is in hand — see air ticketing.

Morocco visa questions

The questions people actually ask at the office. If yours is not here, send it on WhatsApp.

Can Pakistanis get the Morocco e-visa?
Only conditionally. Pakistan is not on Morocco's e-visa nationality list — that list names eleven countries including India, but not Pakistan. A Pakistani qualifies only by holding residence in one of about 35 listed countries, or a multiple-entry non-electronic visa from Schengen, the USA, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Japan, Canada, Norway or New Zealand valid at least 90 days from the application date. If you live in Pakistan with no other visa, the route is the Embassy in Islamabad.
My Schengen visa is valid. Does that qualify me?
Only if all three conditions are met: it must be multiple entry, valid at least 90 days counted from the date you apply for the Moroccan e-visa, and not an electronic visa. That last one is in Morocco's terms in both English and French and is the condition most often missed. You must also carry the original with you to the Moroccan border.
How much does it cost?
The e-visa is MAD 770 standard or MAD 1,100 express, charged in Moroccan dirhams with no official dollar or euro price. Nothing is refunded, including on refusal. The consular visa fee for Pakistani nationals is not published on any Moroccan page we could reach, so we confirm it with the Embassy rather than quoting a figure.
Is there a Moroccan consulate in Lahore or Karachi?
No. Morocco's official consulate finder returns one post for Pakistan: the Embassy in Islamabad at Plot 52, Street 7, G-5/4, Diplomatic Enclave, open Monday to Friday 9:00 to 16:00. It also covers Afghanistan. No Moroccan source names any outsourced visa centre for Pakistan.
How much money do I need to show?
Morocco publishes a figure, which is unusual: the equivalent of more than EUR 70 in cash per person per day of your stay, or an international bank card, presented on arrival. For a ten-day trip that is EUR 700 per person. For the consular route no minimum is published, but the same benchmark is the sensible one to prepare against.
How long can I stay?
On the e-visa, up to 30 days, single entry, within a validity of 180 days that runs from the date of issue. On a consular short-validity visa, each stay runs between one and ninety days. There is no 90-days-in-180 rule in Moroccan material, but there is a rule against stacking several e-visas to extend a stay.
Can I extend my stay in Morocco?
Effectively no. Morocco states that the type of visa already obtained cannot be changed once you have entered, and that a new visa must be applied for from your country of residence. E-visa holders may not apply for residency at all.
Can I take a day trip to Spain and come back?
Not on a single-entry e-visa. Crossing to Ceuta or Melilla or taking a ferry to mainland Spain exits Morocco, and a single-entry visa will not readmit you. If a Spain leg is part of the plan, tell us before anything is booked.
What documents does the embassy ask for?
At lodging: the application form, two colour photos on white background at 4 by 3 cm, identity or residence card, a valid passport and photocopy, and either a bank statement, a legalised sponsorship undertaking, or a request from an approved travel agency. At issuance: travel insurance, a hotel reservation or voucher, a return ticket with firm reservation, and the chancery fee. The agency-request option is a published alternative to the bank statement, and it is one we can provide.
Can you guarantee my Morocco visa?
No. Morocco states that holding a visa does not confer an irrevocable right of entry. What we can do is make sure you apply through the right channel in the first place — which for most Pakistani residents is not the e-visa, whatever the internet says — so you are not paying MAD 770 for an application that was never going to be accepted.

Other visas we prepare

Travellers planning Morocco often ask about these next.

About this page. Breeze Travels & Tours Pvt Ltd is a private travel agency. We are not the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Embassy of Morocco, and we do not issue visas. Nothing here is legal advice. We make no claim about approval rates and we do not guarantee outcomes.

Rules and fees last checked: 11 October 2026. The consular visa fee and processing time for Pakistani nationals are not published on any Moroccan government page we could reach, and overstay penalties are not published either; none are stated here. Morocco's terms describe Category B as "European Union" while its live rules enumerate a specific country list, so we have described it as a list rather than reproducing a block. Fees and procedures change without notice.

Before you pay for anything, let us check which route is yours

Morocco has three doors and most Pakistani travellers can only use one of them. Tell us where you live and whether you hold any other country's visa, and we will tell you in one message whether the e-visa is open to you or whether this is an Islamabad application.
